How to Freeze Lobster Meat
When thawed properly in your fridge, our Maine lobster meat can be re-frozen for later use. This is a great option if you're looking to portion out smaller meals using our 2 lbs. of Maine lobster meat! (Do not re-freeze lobster meat that you have warmed up and left out in room temperature.)
How to Re-freeze your lobster meat
1. Can you freeze lobster meat?
Yes, you can refreeze your lobster meat as long as it's remained in your refrigerator throughout the thawing process. We recommend a slow, 24-hour thawing process. However, do not re-freeze lobster meat that you have warmed up or left out in room temperature.
Step 2: Dry & Portion Lobster Meat
After thawing your 2 lbs. of lobster meat, it's time to drain and dry all 2 lbs. of the lobster meat. Open the bag, drain the water, lay your lobster meat on paper towel.
Spread the lobster meat out evenly and firmly press down and dry with additional paper towels to remove excess water.
Step 3: Portion out the lobster meat
Set aside your desired amount of lobster that you're going to prepare and place the remaining leftover lobster in a freezer safe bag or package. Compress as much air as possible out of the bag before sealing.
Step 4: Date your freezer package for leftover lobster
For best results, thaw and use within 60 days of freezing your lobster meat!
Both lobster tail meat and lobster claw meat are sold in 2 lb increments. For comparison, that's equivalent to 10 lobsters in terms of the amount of meat you receive!
